The Ordination of Deacon Jason Clark

Almighty God, giver of all good things, by your Holy Spirit you
have appointed various Orders of Ministers in your Church:
mercifully behold this your servant now called to the Order of
Priests, and so fill him with the truth of your doctrine and adorn
him with holiness of life, that by word and good example he may
faithfully serve you in this office, to the glory of your Name and
the edification of your Church; through the merits of our Savior
Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
world without end. Amen.

I am pleased to announce that I will be soon ordained a priest in the Anglican Church in North America by The Right Reverend Kevin Bond Allen, the Bishop of Cascadia, on Saturday, June 29th, 2019, in the sanctuary at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Salem, OR, at 1:00 p.m. A light reception is to follow in the gymnasium. The address for Our Savior Lutheran Church is: 1770 Baxter RD SE, Salem, OR, 97306. I personally invite you to join us and celebrate with me if you are able. If you have not yet been able to attend a worship service at Salem Anglican, this service will provide you the opportunity to meet our bishop and see what God is doing in our midst at Salem Anglican.

My ordination service will take the place of our regular service on Saturday, June 29th. Salem Anglican normally meets every Saturday evening at Trinity Covenant Church. The address is 5020 Liberty RD S, Salem, OR, 97306. Worship begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Fireside Room, but we invite you to also join us for our fellowship meal in the gymnasium at 5:00 p.m. There is no need to bring anything, we always have enough food. Please come as you are. Our worship consists of the liturgy of Evening Prayer followed by the Holy Eucharist.

Salem Anglican values its children. There is room for our children to stretch their legs in the gymnasium during our meal time and children are welcome in our worship service. We do provide an age appropriate lesson for young children during the liturgy of the Word, but we invite young children back into our sanctuary for our celebration of the Eucharist. All baptized Christians, including our children, who have been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit are welcome to receive the sacrament of Holy Eucharist. Those who have not been baptized or feel they are not ready to receive, are welcome to come forward and receive a blessing.

Salem Anglican desires to plant a new Biblical and orthodox Anglican parish for Salem that eventually meets for worship on Sunday mornings.  Our current goal is to build our core congregation along with a leadership team that will help us officially plant a new church. We are in the process of identifying ways that we can grow in our relationships with one another and be a positive contributor to the Salem community through works of service. Please consider joining us on a Saturday night during Advent to see if Salem Anglican is right for you.

May the peace of the Lord be with you,

Rev. Jason Clark
