Eastertide is the season following the celebration of Easter that lasts for fifty days. During this time our lessons and sermons focus on the Acts of the apostles and sharing the Good News of our risen savior. Jesus Christ has broken the curse of sin and defeated evil through his resurrection from the dead. All those who pledge their allegiance to Jesus Christ as king and put their faith in him become members of the kingdom of God and God’s family. Those who put their faith in the risen Savior and are baptized are born again, forgiven of their sins, adopted into God’s family, and become living members of the Body of Christ. We look forward to Christ’s return when he will resurrect the dead, sit as judge of every human being who ever lived, eradicate evil, and rule and reign with God’s people over all creation. Come join us at Salem Anglican as we discuss how to share God’s Good News to those around us here in Salem and become obedient disciples of Jesus Christ.
Salem Anglican meets every Saturday evening at Trinity Covenant Church. The address is 5020 Liberty RD S, Salem, OR, 97306. Worship begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Fireside Room, but we invite you to also join us for our fellowship meal in the gymnasium at 5:00 p.m. There is no need to bring anything, we always have enough food. Please come as you are. Our worship consists of the liturgy of Evening Prayer followed by the Holy Eucharist.
Salem Anglican values its children. There is room for our children to stretch their legs in the gymnasium during our meal time and children are welcome in our worship service. We do provide an age appropriate lesson for young children during the liturgy of the Word, but we invite young children back into our sanctuary for our celebration of the Eucharist. All baptized Christians, including our children, who have been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit are welcome to receive the sacrament of Holy Eucharist. Those who have not been baptized or feel they are not ready to receive, are welcome to come forward and receive a blessing.
Salem Anglican desires to plant a new Biblical and orthodox Anglican parish for Salem that eventually meets for worship on Sunday mornings. Our current goal is to build our core congregation along with a leadership team that will help us officially plant a new church. We are in the process of identifying ways that we can grow in our relationships with one another and be a positive contributor to the Salem community through works of service. Please consider joining us on a Saturday night during Advent to see if Salem Anglican is right for you.
May the peace of the Lord be with you,
