Ordinary Time (Trinitytide)

This Sunday (May 27th) is Trinity Sunday which is the beginning of Trinitytide otherwise known as ordinary time. The color for ordinary time is green which symbolizes spiritual growth. During this time we emphasize rooting ourselves in Trinitarian love and orienting our lives around the teachings of Christ. I invite you to seek the Lord in the ordinary things of life during Trinitytide. Prayerfully consider how the Lord desires to interact with your daily routine. I believe your life will be transformed with the presence of God as you open up your Spirit to the extraordinary love of God.

Salem Anglican meets at Trinity Covenant Church on Saturday nights from 5-7 p.m. for dinner, fellowship, and the liturgy for Evening Prayer with an informal Eucharist. The address is 5020 Liberty RD S, Salem, OR, 97306. We begin with dinner and fellowship in the gymnasium and then move to the Fireside Room for worship. Young children begin in the classroom across the hall from the fireside room for an age appropriate lesson and activity before joining the adults in the Fireside Room for the Holy Eucharist.

On occasion, we do offer a formal Eucharist celebration. On these occasions, young children will begin the service in the Fireside Room with everyone else, be excused for an age appropriate lesson during the liturgy of the word, and then come back to the Fireside Room for the Holy Eucharist.

Salem Anglican is not the name of a church, it is the name of an organization that will plant a new Anglican Church for Salem. We look forward to the day when we formally celebrate the Eucharist every Sunday morning in a building of our own with a new name. Our church planting goals for this summer are to continue to build up the congregation and to create a leadership team that will guide Salem Anglican in the church planting process. You are welcome to come help us plant a new Anglican Church for Salem, OR.

May the peace of the Lord be with you,
